MIKE2 is licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License. A copy of this license has been provided within the MIKE2.0 Wiki, along with an Invariant Text section that must be included as part of the release.

Summary of Approach

This section gives a brief overview on the licensing approach to MIKE2, which:

Allows you to:

  • Freely use the MIKE2 Methodology, in whole or in part, for personal, company internal, or commercial purposes;
  • Use the MIKE2 Methodology in packages or distributions that you create.

Forbids you to:

  • Redistribute any piece of the MIKE2 methodology without proper attribution;
  • Use any marks owned by BearingPoint in any way that might state or imply that BearingPoint endorses your distribution;
  • Use any marks owned by BearingPoint in any way that might state or imply that you created the MIKE2 Methodology in question.

Requires you to:

  • Include a copy of the license in any redistribution you may make that includes the MIKE2 Methodology;
  • Provide clear attribution to BearingPoint for any distributions that include the MIKE2 Methodology
  • Release any documentation content you produce to also be under this GNU Free Documentation License

Does not require you to:

  • Include the full content of the MIKE2.0 methodology, in any redistribution you may assemble that includes it;
  • Include the source of any software from the MIKE2 methodology that you used, or of any modifications you may have made to it, in any redistribution you may assemble that includes it;
  • Submit changes that you make to the methodology back to the BearingPoint (though such feedback is encouraged).

In summary, this license gives readers the same rights to copy, redistribute and modify a work and requires all copies and derivatives to be available under the same license. Copies can also be sold commercially, but if produced in larger quantities (greater than 100) then the original document or source code must be made available to the work's recipient.

The source license can be found on the GNU Home Site
