This article describes why MIKE2.0 was created and has therefore been protected. Propose changes to this article on its corresponding discussion page.

The MIKE2.0 Methodology was initially created by a team from BearingPoint, a leading Management and Technology Consultancy.

The project started as MIKE2: Method for an Integrated Knowledge Environment. The approach centers around effective Enterprise Information Management. The BearingPoint team began the MIKE2 initiative in early 2005. The methodology proceeded through a number of release cycles. In late 2005, it reached a mature state. MIKE2.0 involved the creation of an open source and more collaborative methodology than other proprietary methodologies. Much of the content of the MIKE2.0 methodology was made available to the Open Source community in late December 2006. When the IM Solution Suite project started in 2007, BearingPoint defined the suite architecture with MIKE2.0 as the open source “face” of the suite. Since then, the content has continued to evolve and the collaborative framework has become more sophisticated.

At this stage, the governance of MIKE2.0 was formally handed over to the MIKE2.0 Governance Association (MGA)in 2009.

MIKE2.0 Leadership Team

The leadership team for MIKE2.0 consists of the founding members of the MIKE2.0 Governance Association:

  • Sven Mueller is the lead of BearingPoint's Information Management practice and is based in Zurich, Swizterland. As the EMEA lead of BearingPoint's IM Solution Suite, Sven drives adoption of the MIKE2.0 approach, integrated with BearingPoint's go-to-market solutions. He is President and Chairman of the Board of the MGA.

MIKE2.0 Governance Association

MIKE2.0 has been handed over to the MIKE2.0 Governance Association (MGA). The MGA represents seasoned experts and analysts from industry, software vendors, and systems integrators. Collectively, these individuals will govern the MIKE2.0 Methodology. The initial team is still in the process of being formulated. At the same time, decisions are being made regarding the team's roles, responsibilities, and the overall operating model.
