From MIKE2.0 Methodology

Here is a starting listing of more than 1000 semantic enterprise and -related tools from a variety of sources.  These are mostly links to comprehensive tools listings rather than individual tools. (Individual tools added to the list will likely be migrated over time to their logical listing area.)

Sweet Tools Listing

Sweet Tools is a listing of 800+ semantic Web and -related tools, including such areas as natural language processing and information extraction in addition to conventional semWeb categories. When you go to the link, you need to pick the Sweet Tools dataset. Once done, you can then filter and slice-and-dice the listing in a variety of ways, including:

  • Open source v. proprietary
  • Tool language (C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, XSLT, etc.)
  • Application areas:
  • Agents/Agent Systems

Ontology Building Tools

Here is a listing of about 160+ ontology building and editing tools.

Large-scale Data Visualization

Here is a listing (a bit dated) of large-scale data visualization and network graphing tools.

Data Structs

Data structs are data formats, often expressed as simple key-value pairs, but including more formal structures as well, that can be readily converted to RDF for semantic enterprise use.

RDFizers

RDFizers are a software or service for converting non-RDF data sources into one or more of the RDF (Resource Description Framework) data model serializations (such as RDF/XML or N3), often with some ontology matching or characterizations.

Here is a listing of 150+ RDFizer converters listed by application area and API.

Search Engines of the Semantic Space

Here are some specialty search sources unique to semantic Web and enterprise-related topics:

Here are some specialty search sources for semantic ontologies and vocabularies:

Note: These are separate from standard search engines of regular Internet content that use semantic technologies in their operation. Examples of these types of search engines include Hakia, Cognition, Powerset (now Bing), True Knowledge.
