Metadata Services Component

Metadata Services provide fine and coarse grained services to build reusable platform independent metadata capabilities to drive a Model Driven Architecture. Metadata Services are enabled by the Foundation Capabilities and Enabling Technologies for metadata that have emerged from standards bodies such as the Object Management Group (OMG), the Java Community, Vendors and other standards groups.

Metadata Services provide Foundation Capabilities to Information Development and complement the overall Enterprise Services Oriented Architecture.

Model Services

Model Services for metadata models expose enterprise and domain specific metadata and meta-models for development of Packages and other Services. Model Services provides access to metadata model capabilities to implement Model Driven Architectures. Model Services provide extensibility and flexibility to the underlying Information Architecture by providing interfaces to add and modify the logical and physical design of information to support Business Model Applications.

Metadata Management Services

Metadata Management Services expose core level capabilities embedded in Metadata Management and Reporting Packages for reuse throughout the information architecture. Metadata Management is a Foundation capability in the overall Enterprise Architecture Framework and provides the Architecture access to Metadata Management capabilities necessary to build integrated Business and Data applications. By utilising Metadata Management Services, Information Development occurs on a standard and consistent framework for Application and Infrastructure development where each component is operating on a common view of Business requirements, but does not prevent a domain specific view of metadata where necessary.
